How is Up For Bids different?
When we started On The Box (now Up For Bids) we came from the “other guys” in online livestock sales. We believed the industry deserved a genuine alternative, one built for vendors, buyers, and agents.
All we wanted to do was create a cheaper, fast, website that makes buying and selling livestock and machinery online easier and quicker.
We focus on selling commercial cattle, commercial sheep, and used machinery. No ads slowing you down making it easy to find the sales that matter to you.
Three weekly sales
For all sales there is a hard close. This means no extensions, timers or delays. The bidding stops at the appointed time
- Commercial cattle: Tuesday bidding opens 4pm, hard close 5pm
- Machinery (multi-vendor): Wednesday capped at 150 lots (low-value items run in separate standalone sales). Bidding opens Sunday 5pm, closes Wednesday 5pm
- Sheep: Friday bidding opens 4pm, hard close 5pm.
You can also make an offer any time before a sale starts.
Instant Listings
No catalogue builds. No deadlines. Listings go live instantly with shareable URLs with all the listing details giving agents more time to market and buyers more time to find (or even offer on) lots before auctions open.
Competitive Fees
We’re cheaper than saleyards and other online platforms. Full fees can be found here. No hidden costs, no buyers premiums.
More Reach. More Engagement.
We invest in targeted digital advertising to get your listings in front of the right buyers at no extra charge.
Set & Forget Bidding
Buyers can set a maximum bid and let the system do the work. It automatically bids on their behalf and notifies them if they’re outbid.
We answer the phone
Our numbers are on the website, and when you call, you’ll reach the people who own and run the business, not a call centre. If there’s a problem, we fix it on the spot.
Independent & Locally Owned
Up For Bids is owned and operated by the people who work in it. No big agencies, banks, or multinationals just us.
